| I recently changed intakes on my truck and the kick down linkage wouldn't reach the new position of my carb, so I just took the kick down linkage off. Could this have any affect on my transmission's shifting other than the fact that it won't down shift on its own? |

It will work just fine, just will not downshift on its own.
